Sharing website knowledge, not judgement
Feeling ashamed of your website or your website know-how isn’t uncommon, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t real. If you’re worried we’ll judge you for not doing everything right, or perhaps even doing everything wrong – that ain’t our jam.
We work with all sorts of small business owners with all sorts of technical experience and skills. Our only priority is helping you have a better website.

Aime knows what she is talking about. She has helped to clarify the areas I need to focus on and how to do it.
As a person who used to do zero planning and a LOT of winging it, Studio Cotton has been a godsend!
Can’t recommend Studio Cotton enough! Aime was overflowing with useful info and everything seems less daunting.
My monthly marketing consultations with Aime have been exactly what I needed to grow my business.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Studio Cotton – in fact, I would recommend that any small business reaches out for some advice and support at some kind of level.
Website consulting FAQs
We try our best to be as clear and transparent as possible, which is why we’ve popped together some helpful info about our consulting packages.
If we’ve missed your question or you need more info, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’d love to help.
Do you offer payment plans for consulting?
No, all consultations require payment in full at the time of booking.
How long is half a day?
3 hours, usually 10am – 1pm or 2pm – 5pm, but we can often be flexible (as long as there’s time for lunch!).
If you opt for a morning session, we’ll usually give you the option to join us for the afternoon in the studio too. There’s absolutely no obligation, but it’ll give you a quiet space to work on your task list and ask quick follow-up questions with more of that lovely tea and coffee.
Available subject to availability, so please let us know after booking if this would be of interest.
Do you consult on marketing topics outside of websites?
No, just websites. Websites all day and all night. Actually scratch that, just during working hours and a only a couple times a week.
Can you help with Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, or WordPress websites?
Yes. Our sessions are focused on helping you to understand why and where you need to make amends to your website and what actions would improve its conversion.
Whilst occasionally we might be able to let you know where a specific setting is or how its labelled, we always need to cover the big picture first.
As a heads up, at Studio Cotton we do not recommend Wix as a small business website platform for too many reasons to fit into this FAQ box. If you have a Wix website, it might be worth getting in touch before booking to make sure we’ll be able to give you the best advice to grow your online presence.
Is this a coaching session?
No. Aime isn’t a coach and will absolutely not be changing your mindset or doing a growth hack. As you can tell, we don’t even know what some of the coaching terms mean.
Our website consulting sessions are strictly about understanding your website as a business tool, identifying opportunities for improvement, and giving you a list of actions that will make it better.
Can I book the digital hour in the studio/IRL?
Due to the layout of the space at Studio Cotton, we have very very very limited availability for short one-to-ones in the studio, which is why we prefer to keep these shorter sessions online (plus it means we can offer playback).
That said, if IRL is more your jam – pop us a message before booking and we can let you know if there’s any upcoming availability.
Can I book the half a day session as an online meet?
No, sorry. Based on experience, we’re unable to maintain the quality of our consulting over this duration as an online website consulting session.
To be totally up front, Aime gets really bad headaches being in front of a screen that long and we want to make sure you get our full attention.
We’re looking for alternatives that’ll bring Studio Cotton expertise to people unable to travel to central Bristol in 2022. In the meantime, it might be worth considering booking multiple digital hours, or getting in touch to discuss your specific website challenge.
Where is your studio for a half a day session?
Our half a day sessions take place in our central Bristol studio, located at 48 Corn Street, Bristol BS1 1HQ. Unfortunately our workspace is located on the third floor, and our building’s lift only goes as high as the second floor (we know, it’s a terrible design quirk).
If you would prefer an accessible venue, please let us know before booking and we’ll make sure to find a more suitable location.
What is your cancellation policy?
We know sometimes stuff happens, and you can’t make a consulting session. We ask for 5 working days cancellation notice before the start time of the booked session for a full refund.
Up to 2 working days before our session, you will be able to postpone the session for a later date (subject to availability) or receive a 50% refund.
Unfortunately we’re unable to reschedule or refund cancellations with less than 2 working days notice. We do try to be as flexible as possible and will take extenuating circumstances into account – we’re all human after all.
How do you hold digital hour sessions?
We use Google Meet to power our digital hour website consulting sessions. You’ll receive a link prior to our session which you can open in a browser on your laptop or desktop.
There’s also an app for at least some phones and tablets, however as we will likely be doing some screensharing we highly recommend using a laptop or desktop device.
