You’ll find Creative Space Bristol nestled among the independent shops on North Street in Bedminster. The shop is run by Emma who’s nurtured the space for over a decade alongside her business In Recovery Upholstery. It’s an inviting, open venue that offers workshops and craft courses, with plenty of plug sockets, bright light and flexible furniture arrangements it’s super practical too. Creative Space Bristol’s latest workshops and courses includes upholstery, pattern cutting, dressmaking, lampshade workshops, machine knitting, stained glass, fused glass, oh and ceramics too.

Next door to The Forge, HOURS is a light-filled event and workshop venue hidden in the heart of Bristol, and a surprisingly affordable venue for the uniqueness of the space on offer. With dark oak floors and fresh white walls, flexible lighting, optional wall dividers and a gallery hanging system, it’s the ultimate blank canvas. 4. Cafe Jackalope, Gloucester Road, Bristol
You’ll find Cafe Jackalope on Bristol’s fiercely independent Gloucester Road. They are clearly passionate about supporting Bristol businesses too, serving local produce in their cafe, (Extract coffee, Joe’s Bakery bread and local-sourced cakes), showcasing and selling local artist’s work, plus hosting a bunch of regular workshops and clubs. Cafe Jackalope has a few workshop venue options, from their bright front window to the cosy snug with cushioned pallet benches and not forgetting their small secret garden, (which is where they also grow their own herbs and tomatoes).
